Long-time Bison producer Les Kroeger was elected Canadian Bison Association (CBA) Board Chair and President for a second term
December 9, 2020 - Regina Saskatchewan – Long-time Bison producer Les Kroeger was elected Canadian Bison Association (CBA) Board Chair and President for a second term at the CBA Board meeting on December 8th, 2020.
Together with his wife Kathy, they have a grass-based cow-calf operation. In addition to marketing live animals, they market bison products locally. Les is a strong supporter of research in the industry and has a keen interest in better understanding bison and the grass upon which they graze. Les Kroeger is also Chair of IBC 2022 which will be bringing an international bison convention to Saskatoon in July 2022.
“It is an honour and privilege for me to serve a second term as CBA Board Chair” Les stated. “Working with people who have a passion for the animal and the industry makes my role a pleasure as I work with like-minded people wanting to grow the industry while focusing on sustainability” he added. “I also see the industry challenges that must be addressed over the next year as a result of COVID-19.
Elected to the Executive Committee were Steven Lunty from Alberta as Vice-chair, Richard Allan as the East Zone Representative and Doreen Neilly from Alberta as the West Zone Representative.
The Canadian Bison Association is a national association representing the interests of the bison industry and its 550 members in Canada.
