Age Verification
Age Verification is the association of bison birth date information with a bison identification number (tag number). This voluntary, free of charge program allows producers to store information and have it readily available should it be required by domestic or export markets like the United States and Japan.
In order to successfully submit birth date information to the Canadian Cattle Identification Agency’s (CCIA’s) Age Verification Website, producers must follow two steps:
1) Validation
Prior to being able to submit data for the first time, users must validate themselves on the Age Verification Website. This step ensures that the highest data integrity and security is met at all times. The process is as follows:
- Log onto www.canadaid.ca and click on the CCIA Age Verification Website link
- Click on “Don’t have an Account yet?”
- Enter all contact information including any tag numbers previously purchased
- Create a username and password to be used for all future visits to the site. After being successfully validated, users can log on at any time with their username and password.
2) Submitting Birth Date Information
- Log onto www.canadaid.ca and click on the CCIA Age Verification Website link
- Click on “Submit Animal Birth Date Information”
- Enter single animal tag number or entire tag range for submission
- Enter animal birth date information (single animal or first calf born on range)
- All other categories are optional
Once submission is complete, producers can choose to generate specific birth
certificates as needed. Producers who do not have Internet access can assign a third party user to submit on their behalf. If you would like to have the Canadian Bison Association submit information on your behalf, please call 1.306.522.4766.
