Long-time Bison producer Les Kroeger Elected Canadian Bison Association (CBA) Board Chair and President.

December 4, 2019 - Regina Saskatchewan – Long-time Bison producer Les Kroeger Elected Canadian Bison Association (CBA) Board Chair and President.

At its Board meeting on December 4, 2019 the Canadian Bison Association Board elected Les Kroeger as Board Chair and President. Les is currently President of the Saskatchewan Bison Association – a position he has held since 2011. He has also served on the CBA Board since the fall of 2016.

Les has been in the bison industry since 1989. Together with his wife Kathy, they have a grass-based cow-calf operation. In addition to marketing live animals they market bison products locally.

Les is a strong supporter of getting youth involved in agriculture. He also supports and participates in research projects to better understand bison and the grass upon which they graze. Most recently Les Kroeger was elected Chair of IBC 2022 which will be bringing an international bison convention to Saskatoon.

“It is an honour and privilege for me to serve as CBA Board Chair” Les stated. “Working with people who have a passion for the animal and the industry makes my role a pleasure as I work with like-minded people wanting to grow the industry while focusing on sustainability” he added.

Elected to the Executive Committee were Steven Lunty from Alberta as

Vice-chair, Jean-Luc Chouinard from Quebec as the East Zone Representative and Doreen Neilly from Alberta as the West Zone Representative.

The Canadian Bison Association is a national association representing the interests of the bison industry and its 550 members in Canada.
