My husband Rod and I are first generation ranchers who started with 8 bison in 2005. With livestock experience limited to my past in equestrian, it has been a steep learning curve. Our love for bison has had us growing our herd size and land base for years. We now operate a cow/calf to farm gate meat sales operation, make our own hay and market our meat. We have 1 adult and 2 young sons that help us in many areas. Our land is spread over several tracts of land in two separate counties, Red Deer and Wetaskiwin. Located only 8 miles from Red Deer, we offer meat sales from our on-site store, and we have hosted visitors from other countries, including a tour group of Austrian ranchers. In the past few years we have focused on improving the genetics of our herd and improving our soil health through varietal planting. We have also met with a several people looking into becoming bison producers. I have a passion to help the bison industry grow and improve.
